France and its shit

Hello there, It's been a while since I last wrote something here. Well, it's not that big of a deal. Nobody really follows me, but quite a lot of people read what I write, and I genuinely appreciate that. Anyway, today's post isn't exactly gossip. It's more about facts, observations, and my personal opinions.

So, shall we talk about the state of France these days?

Rapists, racists, and terrorists barely seem to face any consequences anymore. Honestly, I don't think they ever really did. These people don't even bother hiding their actions anymore.

Recently, there have been racist and Islamophobic attacks. These weren't accidental or unintentional acts. They were deliberate. What's even more disturbing is that the individual responsible for this horrific act apparently admitted to what he'd done, seemingly without any shame. He was taken into police custody, but didn't stay there for long before being transferred to a psychiatric hospital.

Seriously, what kind of world are we living in? Like, are we deadass? The justice system is a complete fucking joke. Honestly, what does it take for this damn justice system to get off its ass and actually do something?

Why is Kevin being transferred to a psychiatric hospital, while most of the perpetrators and accomplices involved in the November 13, 2015 attacks, who were arrested and tried, are currently serving prison sentences? Didn't Kevin also carry out an attack? Weren't both acts intentional? Yet Kevin seems to be facing a different kind of treatment.

Even high school students who end up in police custody, or those who simply protest against the conditions they're expected to study in, can face serious consequences. It's so unfair. Children are facing harsher consequences than an adult accused of committing an attack motivated by PURE racism, when all these students want is to be able to study under better conditions.

The justice system is a complete hypocrite. If it can't handle things properly, then what are victims supposed to do? We're expected to trust a system that repeatedly fails to make us feel protected. We will make ourselves heard. We refuse to stay silent.

On top of that, censorship seems to be becoming increasingly common. So, to all French people who run blogs or have Instagram or Twitter accounts: SPEAK UP! Use your blogs, Twitter, Instagram, or any other platform available to you. Denounce what's happening. We deserve to be heard.

Because nowadays, protesting can mean ending up in police custody, facing police violence,...

And on TikTok, videos are reportedly being taken down, while some users are receiving warnings.

I also want to make something very clear: Black people, Arabs, and Muslims should never have to live in fear simply because of their skin colour, ethnicity, or religious beliefs. It's absolutely ridiculous that people should have to feel unsafe just for being who they are. We don't fucking choose our skin colour. Black, white, whatever. Hating someone over the colour of their skin is just fucking stupid. If that's all it takes for you to hate someone, then you're absolute trash.

Now, moving on to sexual predators. Honestly, I believe they deserve the harshest possible punishment. How is it that rape, sexual assault, and even unwanted sexual touching can go unpunished? How are so many perpetrators able to escape accountability?

And don't even get me started on those government officials or whoever they are, constantly suggesting that social media is responsible for young people's struggles, while seemingly doing so little to protect victims or ensure that perpetrators face consequences.

I want to point out that there are still people who are held accountable, but the numbers are deeply concerning.

Let's look at the numbers.

According to figures recorded by the French police and gendarmerie in 2024:

122,600
Victims of sexual violence officially recorded in France.

71,100
Underage victims, representing approximately 58% of the total.

85%
Female victims, across all age groups.

15%
Male victims, across all age groups.

An important distinction:

These 122,600 cases cover several categories of sexual violence, including:

  • Rape and attempted rape.

  • Sexual assault and other sexual offences.

  • Sexual harassment.

  • Other recorded sexual offences.

This does NOT mean that all 122,600 victims were victims of rape.

Now, what happens to the perpetrators?

According to French Ministry of Justice figures for 2024, concerning rape cases outside the family setting:

71.4%
Cases dismissed altogether.

Approximately 13,408 individuals out of 18,781.

67.7%
Cases dismissed because they were considered legally non-prosecutable.

12,722 individuals.

2.9%
Cases dismissed because prosecution was considered inappropriate.

536 individuals.

28.6%
Cases resulting in prosecution before a judge.

5,373 individuals.

And these numbers should make us think.

How many victims are left without the justice they deserve? How many people are expected to move on while the person who hurt them never faces a trial?

This is not something we should simply accept as normal.

Victims are left suffering, sometimes to the point of taking their own lives, while perpetrators remain free and may go on to hurt other people. Meanwhile, the justice system seems more interested in going after high school students protesting for better learning conditions than addressing serious cases. Honestly, this justice system is a fucking joke.

We're done being silent. We want accountability, and we want justice. Every act of rape, sexual assault, and sexual abuse deserves to be taken seriously and investigated properly.

"No" means "no." "I don't know" is not consent. Wearing a skirt, being drunk, being a child, being unconscious, or being in a vulnerable position does NOT mean consent. None of these things gives anyone the right to touch another person's body without permission. And I don't give a damn what excuse you come up with.

And as for the police: I've seen the videos showing officers touching minors under the pretext of carrying out searches. You cannot hide inappropriate or abusive behaviour behind a uniform or claim that everything is justified by police procedure. If these allegations are substantiated, those responsible must be held accountable. Every victim deserves to have their story heard, every allegation deserves to be taken seriously, and those who abuse their authority deserve to face the consequences.

You are not above the law just because you wear a uniform. Your position does not give you ownership over anyone else's body.

No more excuses. No more silence. No more protecting predators.

The police are protecting us’? That's absolute bullshit. I'll wipe my ass with that statement.

who is "tey haley"

I’m so happy to have finally created my blog! I’m still figuring out how to use Blogger, but the platform seems pretty interesting. My page is still a work in progress, though.

Let me introduce myself! I won’t be sharing my full first name, so you can call me Tey Haley (a reference to Wolf Haley), Jefa Tey, or simply Miss Tey.

I’m incredibly passionate about music, and I’m hoping to get into music-making soon. However, I’m so swamped with schoolwork right now 😭 It’s awful, I have so many exams! If I can find the time, I’d love to try composing music (I’ve already written the lyrics).

On this blog, I plan to share all kinds of little stories and random tidbits with you some pretty ordinary, others a little more wild!

I’ll also be sharing my future musical creations and, maybe, some of my drawings, my ideas and the stories behind them, my inspirations, and even some outfit ideas (if you’re interested!).

Some people might think blogging is outdated, cringey, or just plain lame. Honestly, I don't care. I've always wanted to have my own blog, and now that I finally do, I'm happy with it. People who call me "outdated" or "cringey" are just miserable people who hate seeing others do whatever they want without caring about what anyone thinks. And that's their problem, not mine.

Thank you once again for visiting my page!

Kisses,

Tey’s out. ♡
