Gossip n°1
(I should clarify that what I’m saying is just my own opinion, based on my own experiences.)
School? It’s horrible. People today are so cruel, much more so than in the past (at least, according to the stories my mother tells about when she was my age). If you’re shy, it’s a living hell; you don’t reach out to anyone, so no one reaches out to you. When you’re alone, no one comes to check on you. People think they can walk all over you because, to some, shyness is a sign of weakness. On top of that, we live in such a colorist society: if someone with a lighter complexion were in this situation, everyone would make sure they weren’t left alone. But if you have a darker complexion, no one even acknowledges your existence, they wouldn’t even give you the time of day. It’s shocking how school made me feel like this was just "normal." In reality, these behaviors shouldn’t be normalized, let alone repeated. Being cast aside because of your skin color makes no sense, yet it’s deeply hurtful. It gives the impression that being Black is a taboo, not to mention the racists at school who are such cowards that they only dare to unleash their hatred toward Black people through Instagram accounts. It’s so pathetic. When I was 12, someone created an account and threatened me with rape and physical assault, while also spewing racist remarks. Being young and feeling tough, I fired back, insulting them without a second thought. Then, boom a phone call. I picked up, but there was nothing, just silence, a total void. I started laughing with my cousin, who happened to be there that day, because I know that people who hide behind a screen to harass girls from school are all talk and no action. I openly mocked him, and I’ll never regret it. To all young Black girls: please be really careful. I’m certain I’m far from the only one who has gone through this.
Anyway, screw you all,
everyone at my school, shove your colorism and your racist comments
right up your asses, you bunch of pathetic losers.
You need to stop acting this way.
Tey’s out
